Registrations for both TDIs are due by June 1, 2008. Scholarship deadline is May 1, 2008.
All students must print out and send in:
- Completed registration and parental consent forms
- Full payment if not applying for scholarship OR $100 deposit and letter requesting scholarship
- The daily schedule grid with your choices for classes marked on it
In order to be considered for the Institute, applicants who are attending for the first time must also send in:
- a letter written by the participant describing how the TDI experience will benefit you;
- a letter from a teacher (or a parent, if you are home schooling) describing your ability to succeed in a challenging learning environment. If this seems like it might take awhile, send in your registration form, parental consent form, class choices, and other letters in without it, so you will be assured of getting the classes you want. Then have the teacher send the letter of recommendation in as soon as possible;
- a letter from your parent/guardian describing why he/she thinks the Talent Development Institute is a good match for you; if you are applying for a scholarship, this letter should also explain your need for financial assistance.
***We do not require any formal testing as proof of giftedness; our process of asking the student, parent, and teacher for written narrative in support of a child’s participation has worked well for us for many years.
